Westobou Open Today !

The annual Westobou Festival Starts today !  The Westobou Festival is a five day, five genre event  showcasing film, music, visual, dance, words to celebrate excellence in art. Westobou has been a tremendous success to Augusta and is a great time to see some amazing music, shows and art.

Westobou kicks off today with film being the area of focus. Tomorrow, October 2nd, music will be the showcase. On Friday the genre of focus will be visual. Saturday, dance will be the area of focus then on Sunday the art of words will wrap up this years Westobou.

Lazy River Here I Come !

 

 Looks like spending the hot summer days floating around the lazy river at an awesome water park are coming back to Augusta. The owner Benjamin Bell told News 12 that "12 months of planning and research" is what lead to this decision. Scuttle's Island will be a 50 acre, $20 million water park located near Lights of the South in Grovetown GA. Way to go Augusta !

The award-winning non-profit community theatre group known as The Augusta Players has been dedicated to serving the city of Augusta since 1945 !  The Augusta Players will be celebrating their 70th season this year of bringing world class broadway to the Augusta area. Don't miss out on the discounted season tickets available now !

The Addams Family Musical, put on by The Augusta Players, has been taking the musical theatre by storm. This captivating show features an original story with many of the beloved characters that we all know from before. The story centers around the monarch of madness, Wednesday Addams who has grown up and has fallen in love with a sweet, respectable young man from a normal family. The Addams gang will never be the same !  Come out and enjoy !  

The Augusta GreenJackets

Come out and enjoy a hotdog and good baseball with the Augusta GreenJackets. The GreenJackets are Augusta's minor league baseball team that play in Lake Olmstead Stadium. 

The GreenJackets were founded in 1980 and currently play in the South Atlantic League in the Southern Division and is a Class A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.  

Start out the day kayaking down the Augusta Canal and then finish up the day with a Greenjackets game, what better way to finish up the summer !

Kelley Brothers and Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament and Concert Coming to Augusta !

Augusta, Georgia natives Charles, Josh and John Kelley have announced they are bringing their Kelley Brothers and Friends Celebrity Golf Tournament and Concert to Augusta !

 This will be an inagural event in which the proceeds will to great charities including the John W. Kelley, M.D., Cardiovascular Endowment ar University Health Care System in Augusta, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and other Augusta based charities. The Celebrity Golf Tournament will be a fun time where members of the local community will be able to compete with notable celebrities to give back to Augusta.

After the fun on the course. The Kelley Brothers are joining Lady Antebellum and others on stage for a concert. Other musical guest are yet to be announced.

Kayak the Augusta Canal !

 Have some fun and cool off by kayaking the August Canal. With beautiful scenery and a little history too, anybody can have fun. Bring your own kayak or rent kayaks from Savannah Rapids Kayak Rental, They are awesome !  Tourist and locals welcome, put in at the historic Augusta Canal at the Savannah Rapids and Pavilion and take out is at Lake Olmstead. Near the Lake Olmstead Stadium, home of the Augusta GreenJackets Baseball team. Kayak down the canal and then get out and take in a GreenJackets game !  What a day !
